Today is my husband's 50th birthday! I have been learning Photoshop techniques, so I played around and made him a birthday photo frame. We are all getting together for dinner tonight to celebrate. He actually took a day off of work (amazing) and is playing golf with his buddies. It rained earlier, but has stopped now, so he is a happy camper (golfer)! Thank goodness I was not able to rent him that Corvette convertible today! -no fun in the rain!
Now I am off to make him a very special 50th birthday card!

I got so much done over the weekend at the Simply Cropping Scrapbooking Getaway! I was able to complete:
- A baby scrapbook for a friend to put her baby's photos in
- Punch art of Sesame Street Characters and double Popsicle
- Noah's Ark creations/cards
- Build-a-Bear Sizzix creations- so cute!
- Dasher and Cardinal Christmas Window Sheet cards
- a summer layout for my TBA photos
- 6 pages (masculine) from a class I took using one double layout sketch
- a bunch of tri-shutter cards
Below are some photos of the things I did. The day is still young and I want to make some music cards for my friend Meg Hanson. Plus I HAVE to get into the craft room to do more purging and organizing for my yard sale.

I'm meeting one of my best friends, Lucille, tomorrow and made this lot of cards just for her. It's a partial birthday gift and a "just because you're the best" gift. She is an awesome pianist and LOVES shoes and chocolate, so "Things I Love" was perfect for her. I also made up some piano and music cards using the textured plates and new In- Colors. Sorry to say the SU doesn't have a piano stamp:(
I think she will like this!

I love this set! And I love the new In Colors Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo. They go perfect with this stamp set and theme.
I used Whisper White card stock along with textured Bermuda Bay to create the Shadow Box card. I sponged the Bermuda Bay around the stamped images (Black Stazon and the other two colors). Stampin' Dimensionals raised the fish up to give it dimension. What I think really made the card special is the sand and the shell attached to the inside of the window. I finished off the card with a simple greeting punched out with the Word Window and then the Modern Label punch in Melon Mambo. Let me know what you think of it and any improvements you would suggest!
I am teaching how to make a cloud background with ink , a sponge and a scallop template this month. Here is a 6x6 scrapbook page I created about my 25 year old son, Brian- then only a few months old! I also showed how we can turn a 6x6 page into 8 1/2 x 11" and then into a 12 x 12" page (Progressive scrapbooking).
The sponging takes a bit of practice, but it is a nice effect.
