Hubby's Birthday Card

Yesterday was Bill's Birthday, so I made him a one- of- a- kind card designed for his tastes. The stamp is a Stampin' Up single stamp from the front of the catalog.

Bill is an avid golfer (and pretty good at it too). He loves greens and turquoise, so I used Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight. I hope you are inspired to create a masculine card.
BTW- his favorite cake is Angel Food Cake with orange icing, so I had to make him one even though it's only us two eating it! There is plenty of extra, so come on over and have a scoop of chocolate ice cream with it!

Bill relaxed by the pool with a book, drink and cigar after golf. At night, we headed out to Spigola's to hear Meg Hanson and her band play. After an exciting Friday driving a hot Corvette all day (I rented him one for LAST YEAR'S birthday) and a day in the sun, I think he had a pretty nice birthday weekend!

Tropical Flip Out Scrapbook

Last Monday I held a Tropical Flip Out Scrapbook Class for 6 wonderful ladies! We had a blast making these cute and easy mini scrapbooks. They received the dimensions and photo directions so they can recreate the books using different colors and stamp sets.

This pattern would make great brag books, baby shower gifts, birthday books, and Christmas Memory Albums. My brain is swirling with all different varieties! I'm sure you will see more of these as we get closer to Christmas!

I have a few left, so if you would like to purchase the completed project, contact me and I can reserve one for you. $18 plus any postage that may be involved.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is my mother's birthday! We are celebrating together at the Creating Keepsakes Convention in PA. I can't think of a better way to spend a birthday, can you? We will be taking her out for a fun dinner and spending the evening cropping. I plan to treat her like a queen! She's the best mom!!

Here's a simple birthday card you can make at my upcoming Flight of the Butterfly 3 Way Class. I cased this one from Ilina Crouse. She is so talented.

It's on August 10th at 7 PM and is $15. You can get a 20% discount on the stamp set if you order it from me from now until August 1st. I will mount it for you and have it ready for you to take home at the class. We will be making 9 cards (3 of 3 designs) and you will also get 3 more layouts to inspire you. Sign up now as space is limited.

Because I Care

Here is a wonderful new hostess stamp set called "Because I Care". I made a 5 minute card using some parts of the stamp set. I left off the greeting because I wasn't sure if I was going to use it as a thank you, birthday or get well card. I like to keep my greetings off the cards until I'm sure what I want to send out! You can't tell from the photo, but I put some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter on the flower. It really sparkles pretty in person.

The colors are Perfect Plum, Pretty in Pink and Pear Pizazz. I was in a "P" mood I guess. The embossed background is a new embossing folder called Wallpaper. Only from Stampin' Up!

Contact me to find out how you can get this stamp set FREE!!!! it's so easy!

July Workshop Cards

This is the Black Magic Technique. We had so much fun creating one-of-a-kind cards. We used the Water Color Trio Stamp set, basic black card stock, white craft ink, colored pencils/watercolor pencils and Stampin' Up's awesome white gel pen.
The card on the left also uses French Script background stamp.
Add the embossing folder Dots for the background of the card and it really pops.
If you would like to make these cards and learn the black magic technique, please contact me and I would be happy to set up a day or night when we could get together and stamp.

The second technique we learned was kissing. Well, we are all good kissers by now, but when it comes to stamping, this technique gets left out all too often. Like with the butterflies from the technique book we made, we pressed two stamps together to exchange ink, take off ink or transfer ink onto a solid stamp surface. The ice cream scoops show the three different kissing techniques: plain kissing, two- time kissing and kissing off! This was so much fun to do and so easy! Change up the background oval and ribbon to Bashful Blue and you have a great card for a boy. This card was cased from Lori Rider.
Contact me anytime to set up your own class- private or a small group of friends. I do parties too! You provide the food and beverages and I will provide the fun. Stampin' Up parties make great Girls Nights Out, Craft Nights and birthday celebrations. Prices range from free to $5, $10 and $15 per person depending on how many projects and what types you want to do.

July Technique Book and Club Projects

July's workshops included making a Technique Notebook to hold our directions and samples of new stamping techniques we will be featuring over the next 7 months.

This notebook was created by CraftyPerson Productions www.craftyperson.com. They provide great resources for us demonstrators so we do not have to re-invent the wheel. I made up the Black Magic technique card because I always wanted to try it and now I am hooked. What a stunning but easy technique to use on dark card stock.
My next post will feature the cards we made for the Kissing Technique and the Black Magic Technique. Stay tuned!

Congratulations on their 2nd Wedding Anniversary! Here's a quick but elegant card for any wedding or anniversary...
We also wrote:
"Our Greatest wish for the two of you is that through the years your love for each other will so deepen and grow, that years from now you will look back on your wedding day, as the day you loved each other the least."

Best wishes!

Baptism Cards for the Baker Twins

I am honored to be a part of Audrey Elizabeth's and Charles Edward's Christian Family. We had their baptism this morning at Saint Mark's and it was so beautiful. The babies were dressed adorably in white outfits and they didn't cry at all when they received the water blessing and traveled through the congregation being welcomed. We sang "Miracle of God" and I got to play the flute part for them.

I'm on my way to their party so while I wait for the baked ziti to finish cooking, I thought i would share their baptism cards with you.
Whisper White card stock, Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink cs and ink
New Wallpaper embossing folder, Special Blessings stamp set, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter

Dream Night with Dawn and Shelli

I was grateful and honored to be able to attend a demonstrator's event in Short Hills, NJ this month where I got to meet Shelli Gardner, founder and CEO of Stampin' Up! We made 7 projects, chatted about the changes coming to the new catalog and indulged in a chocolate fountain and luscious desserts. It was a very fun and motivating event. I encourage all demonstrators to try to make it out to your group events, regionals and conventions whenever you can. They motivate you, revive your passion and spark your creativity. Thank you Dawn Raspas for hosting this extraordinary event.

Last month we celebrated Kathy and my birthdays at our Friday night club. I had a big one this year, so the wonderful ladies surprised me with a red and purple hat, cards, gifts and a birthday cake! They all came dressed in red and with their red hats too. I am blessed to have such wonderful stamping friends. I would not have ever met some of them if it wasn't for Stampin' Up! Thanks everyone, for making my 50th birthday so special!
